| Robin Brisker, born in 1954, is
a multi talented artist. He is a painter, a collage artist, a muralist,
a musician, and a semi-retired juggler.
His paintings were strongly influenced by the cubists from the
early 1900’s: Picasso, Juan Gris, George Braque, as well as
other artists; Matisse, Léger, Cezanne and Egon Schielle.
Robin Brisker’s style leans toward the abstract, trying to
create something that doesn’t yet exist. Landscapes and portraits
are redundant. If you need an image duplicated then take a photogragh.
His collage work was inspired by German artist Kurt Schwitters.
Brisker takes found objects, antique papers, ticket stubs, old receipts,
hotel ledgers, Asian journals, and even department store catalogs
from 1940 and recycles them into something aesthetically interesting.
His mural work was inspired by Deigo Rivera, the Mexican artist
married to Frida Kahlo.
His piano playing, like everything else, he does was self taught.
Brisker enjoys playing in restaurants and hotel lobbies, whether
they want him to or not. Sometimes he is shown a menu, other times
the door.
During his twenties he spent his time traveling around the world
performing as a street juggler and stand up comedian. Now he is
happy to stay in one place and work on his art career. To be in
a museum show is his next challenge.
Client list-
Early in his career while working at a luxury resort in Mexico he
was able to sell to Miles Davis, Madonna, Amy Irving and later on
in Chicago to Jamie Wyeth and Tony Fitzpatrick.
In New Zealand Robin Judkins (coast to coast )has also started collecting
Robin Brisker's work since 2005.
